Christmas in a Tin

Hello again, here’s another post from me. This time a very cute (can I say that about my own project?) little Christmas project using some fabulous metal embellishments from Mitform Castings.

Mitform were generous enough to send the Craft Stamper office some of their castings to try out and we had a brilliant time creating with them. My little sardine tin scene is a project I’ve had in my head for ages now, ever since I brought the tin back from a holiday in Portugal. As soon as I recieved the castings I knew this would be the opportunity I was waiting for to create my diarama. With everything given a little wipe of gesso and texture paste snow, I sprinkled on some WOW! glitter to give it some sparkle.

The street is actually created from my own house stamps which I shrunk down using shrink plastic! I was absolutely amazed at how well they fitted in the tin. The tree or pine cone was found and the little car comes from a Monopoly set (an old one from the recycling centre). It all sticks so well using E6000 glue. That stuff is good!

As Mitform were so generous, we’ve decided to have a giveaway on the Craft Stamper Facebook page which you can find here. Or the blog post is on the Craft Stamper blog here. You can find my house stamps here.

Have a lovely day,

WOW! Embossing and Jillian Vance Design Blog Hop

Welcome to the WOW! Embossing and Jillian Vance Design blog hop where you’ll be wowed (can I say that?) by some amazing inspiration from both design teams.

For my inspirational piece I was very kindly sent this fabulous stamp set from Jillian Vance Design called World Adventure which I fell in love with the minute I saw it. I thought it would be perfect for a travel journal so that’s exactly what I did. I believe there’s also a Christmas version of the same stamp too.

Here’s my travel journal.

From WOW! I used Metalline Flame and Fluorescent Blue to emboss my design. I love how those colours work together.

Gelli Printing Workshop

It’s been a while since I hosted a workshop with the Mosaik ladies so I’m looking forward to our next one on the 26th October 2019. The theme is gel printing, a subject I adore. I bought my first Gelli plate many years ago when they first came out and loved it but since lots of other projects took over it got pushed into a cupboard and almost forgotten about until recently. A revival of Gelli print projects made me fall in love with it all over again and this is what prompted me to hopefully inspire our Mosaik group.

We’ll be using an 8 x 10″ plate which is bigger than my original so I’m excited too. I’m no expert at it but I hope to bring some ideas and a few tips along the way, and hopefully we can use some of the prints to create little booklets or cards, that is if we don’t get too carried away and forget the time which is easily done!!

I’m determined this time to keep my gel plate out on my worktable for as long as is practical this time.
Have a good week

WOW! Embossing Powder & Newton’s Nook Designs Inspiration Week | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the week long inspirational tour between WOW! and Newton’s Nook Designs.

When I was offered the chance to take part, I was sent two fabulous products by Newton’s Nook Designs. This gorgeous Cottage Garden stamp set and by contrast a Hibiscus die set.

I’m a big fan of Scandinavian design and this stamp set was crying out for this look. Keeping it simple with one colour of embossing powder, Primary Pink Robin, created the traditional folk design I was after.

With a large block it was easy to arrange my stamps in a pattern I liked so I could stamp the whole thing in one go. I only had to add the little leaf stalk afterwards. This sort of design would make a lovely Christmas look too.

The second card uses the die set, simply embossing the elements with Primary Chartreuse and Pink Robin twice to get a nice rich depth of colour. I brought in the Cottage Garden stamps to tie the two cards together just using a British Summer grey powder to keep it simple.

Now every blog hop has prizes and you have the opportunity to win a Newton’s Nook Designs $25 gift card, and from WOW! Embossing Powder, 6 x Embossing Powders (of your choice) PLUS carry case so Here’s how to win:
Leave comments on the WOW! Embossing Powder Team blog posts using Newton’s Nook Designs products all week (September 23 – 27).

One winner will be randomly chosen from the blog posts throughout the week so the more posts you leave comments on the better your chances are of winning! You have until Friday, September 27th at midnight GMT to comment. The winner will be announced on the WOW! Embossing Powder blog post on Monday, October 1st.

You can find all of the other wonderful posts on the WOW! Embossing Powder Blog and the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog.

Today I’m joined by Gemma in showcasing our inspirational makes. Please pay her a visit if you haven’t done so yet.

Thank you for visiting and good luck.
