And what have I made? Well, let me show you. I was very kindly sent a beautiful tea themed stamp and die called ‘A Cup Of Thanks’ which was crying out for some gorgeous colouring. I embossed the image with Oasis powder before choosing my colours. Even though the image would have looked lovely in glorious colour, I thought it best to stick to just three colours so it wouldn’t look too busy.

In the package, I also received some fabulous little packets of sequins and beads which gave me the inspiration to make a shaker card.

The ‘Thanks’ is also part of the teacup die set from Studio Katia and once cut I gave it a coat of Calypso Embossing Glitter.

After colouring my teacup, I over inked with the Embossing pad and sprinkled over Clear Sparkle to give it a lovely glittery look.

It would make a lovely thank you to go with a little gift at Christmas, maybe make a tag to match perhaps?

Blog Hop With WOW! and Pink And Main

I was so pleased to have been sent this butterfly stamp set from Pink and Main called “You Can Fly” and it’s coordinating die and couldn’t wait to try it out.

You Can Fly by Pink And Main

The butterfly stamp was just crying out to be stamped on acetate and the results didn’t disappoint. I ended up stamping and embossing in several different powders just to see how they looked. I used Rose Gold, Metalline Himalayan Musk, Long Island Teal and  Calypso Embossing Glitter.

As well as the brand new heat tool from WOW! Embossing Powders which is absolutely amazing! You have to get one!

With all those left over butterflies the only thing to do was to show them off by gluing them to some twisted hazel twigs and putting these into a glass bowl.

Anyway, that’s enough about me, please go on and discover all the other inspirational projects the other designers have to offer.

The Blog Hop prize announcement will be made on Wednesday, October 22, 2018, on both Pink & Main & WOW! Embossing blog. The Prizes to be won are a $25 gift certificate to Pink & Main store, 6 x powders + carry case from the WOW! Embossing Powder Store.

Fall CCB blog hop

If there’s one thing I love about living here in Luxembourg it’s the beautiful colours of Autumn when the forests turn from green to red, yellow and brown, and as long as the sun is shining it’s an absolute pleasure to drive through the leafy forest roads or walk with the dog first thing in the morning.

From today some of the Canvas Corp Crew are going to be blog hopping and showcasing projects inspired by Autumn.

It’s quite normal on my morning walks to pick up leaves, twigs or interesting things I find along the way and a lot of these end up in my inspiration jar for sketching at a later date.

I was inspired to create by the teasle seed heads outside my studio window which I leave standing throughout the winter to give a nice structure to the garden as well as feeding the birds.

I thought it was about time I added some sketches of my nature finds in a journal and of course I had to make one for the purpose. So here it is, an Autumn-inspired junk journal for sketching the things I’ve found on my morning forest walks with Cooper.

Junk Journal

I’ve painted on a piece of Stretched Natural Canvas cotton and given a mixed media finish with paints, gesso and texture paste. I also added a pretty piece of Avocado Burlap along with some Grey Burlap die cut into hearts. The hand-stitched binding I’m thrilled with only because it’s tricky to make it look neat enough.  Painting on canvas cotton is so satisfying and looks beautiful when it’s given a shabby chic treatment.

The inside has four signatures each with eight pages made from magazine paper, music score and plain old copy paper. I did use kraft paper for each outer page just so it would look neat from the outside, but I look forward to using these pages as much as the rest.

I hope this has inspired you to make yourself a junk journal or nature diary. Please visit the other Crew members to find out what they’ve created with Canvas Corp products. Please visit the next designer who is…

Christine Santos

So do have a “leaf” through each blog (that was truly terrible) to discover their Autumnal projects and don’t forget to leave them some love as you go. The next on the list is Christine Santos.

I’ll be back soon with another blog post but for now happy hopping.

WOW and Pink Fresh Studio Blog Hop

Hello there! All this week the team at WOW Embossing Powders are joining forces with the fabulous Pink Fresh Studio Creative Team for a fun-filled Blog Hop.
Blog hops bring so much inspiration and here we are bringing you a wonderful, creative and inspirational line up. Not only will you be inspired BUT if you leave a comment on each designer’s blog, you’ll earn a chance to win 6 powders from your choosing along with a WOW carry case to store you powders safely in.
Pink Fresh Studio will be offering a gift card worth a whopping $50
I was very generously given the opportunity to use a stamp and die set from Pink Fresh and I chose to use this cute Forest Friends set. As a lover of the forest and forest friends every day on my dog walks and being surrounded by the forest here in Luxembourg I simply had to have it.  The die too is an absolute must to be able to create this beautiful dimensional look.
I used Primary Chartreuse from WOW on the background as it’s such a gorgeous green shade and British Summer to stamp the little animal friends as it’s not so dark as an obvious black. I also stamped the little bear a second time and cut him out to layer up creating even more dimension.
Here are a couple of better looks at it.
The Winners from the hop will be chosen at random from the comments left on ALL OF THE POSTS from this blog hop by 7th September 2018 and the will be announced on the WOW blog the week of 10th September 2018.
If you are hopping along, you should have come from the blog of Gemma Campbell.
Your next stop is our very own Jo Herbert.
If you get lost along the way, head back over to the WOW! Embossing Powder / Pink Fresh Studio blog for the complete list of designers joining in the hop.
